Terms & Conditions and Cancellation Policy

Terms and Conditions & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 30 September 2026

These terms explain how GoInspect Pty Ltd (ABN 83 617 630 814) provides inspection services, arranges bookings and handles changes, cancellations and refunds. Please read them before booking.

1. Your inspection agreement

Your agreement comprises these terms and the quote, inspection scope and booking details provided to you before you accept. Any special arrangements or changes to that agreement must be agreed with you. Our separate Terms of Use govern use of our website.

Nothing in these terms removes or limits rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded.

2. Booking dates and times

You can book without knowing when the property will be ready. Date and time selections are optional. If you know the likely date or have a confirmed date from your builder, enter it when booking. Otherwise, leave it blank and contact us when you are ready to arrange the inspection.

Submitting a booking or making payment does not, by itself, confirm an appointment. We will contact you to confirm availability, access and the inspection date and time. Dates can be changed if construction progress or site readiness changes.

3. Prices and payment

Prices shown in our booking form include GST. Quotes depend on the information supplied, including the inspection service, property type, building size, location, number of visits and selected extras.

Please provide accurate information. If the details or scope need to change, we will explain any proposed price adjustment and obtain your agreement before proceeding with additional work.

Travel charges and optional services are included where selected or otherwise agreed in your quote. Client discount codes apply only to eligible bookings.

You may select an available payment option when booking. If you choose to pay later, we will send an invoice. Unless we agree otherwise, payment must be received before the inspection report is released.

4. What the inspection covers

The inspection covers the service and scope agreed for your booking. We inspect relevant areas that are reasonably accessible and safe, and report on observable defects within that scope.

An inspection records conditions at the time of the visit. Concealed defects, intermittent problems and conditions developing later may not be identifiable during the inspection. It is not a guarantee that the property is free from all defects.

Unless specifically agreed, the inspection does not involve dismantling building elements, destructive testing, specialist engineering investigations, pest inspections, certification of electrical or plumbing installations, or specialist leak testing. It does not replace statutory approvals or certification by the appropriate authorities.

We will record relevant access restrictions and inspection limitations in the report.

5. Access and property readiness

Please arrange permission to enter the property, including builder or site-supervisor approval where required. Let us know about access arrangements, site hazards, incomplete work or restrictions that could affect the inspection.

For handover inspections, the property should be sufficiently complete for the agreed inspection. For stage inspections, contact us before the relevant work is concealed or the next stage proceeds.

If the property is not ready or cannot be accessed safely, we will discuss whether to inspect the available areas or reschedule. We will not enter unsafe areas or require you to proceed with a materially reduced scope without agreement.

6. Roof and drone inspections

Direct access onto a roof is subject to suitable access and safety controls, including edge protection or other appropriate fall-protection measures where required. We will not walk on a roof where it is unsafe to do so.

Roof elements visible from safe, accessible locations may be assessed within the agreed scope. A drone roof inspection is an optional additional service available for eligible handover bookings. It is not included unless selected or agreed.

Drone operation depends on weather, airspace restrictions, permissions and safe operating conditions. Images may be limited by obstructions, roof configuration and visibility. A drone inspection does not replace physical access or reveal concealed conditions.

If the booked drone service cannot be provided, we will discuss rescheduling or refunding its unprovided portion. We will not substitute a materially different service without your agreement.

7. Second, stage and maintenance inspections

A second inspection generally checks rectification of previously reported defects within the agreed scope. It is not automatically another full first inspection. Second inspections are available only where GoInspect carried out the first inspection. We use our existing inspection records, so you do not need to upload the original report. We do not carry out second inspections based on another inspector’s report.

Each selected construction stage requires its own inspection visit. Our online stage-inspection service is not available for units or townhouses.

A 12-month maintenance inspection assesses observable issues within the agreed scope. The service name does not determine your legal warranty periods or extend any deadline for notifying a builder or lodging a claim. Arrange your inspection and notifications in time for applicable deadlines.

8. Changes, cancellations and refunds

Free changes and cancellations

We understand that building schedules change. You can change or cancel an inspection without a cancellation or rescheduling fee. Please contact us as soon as you know an appointment needs to change, so we can update the inspector’s schedule.

If you reschedule the same service, money already paid will remain allocated to your booking. A change in property, scope or selected services may require an agreed price adjustment.

Refunds when you cancel

If you cancel an inspection before the service has been provided, we will refund the amount paid for that service, subject only to the card-processing deduction described below. For a partly completed package, we will refund the amount paid for the unused inspections or services, using the agreed price allocation. Completed services remain payable, subject to your statutory rights.

For a customer-requested cancellation, where permitted by law and the applicable payment-provider and card-network rules, we may deduct only the actual original card-processing fee incurred by GoInspect that the payment provider does not return to us. We will explain the deduction and refund amount. There is no additional administration fee or markup. If the provider returns its processing fee, that amount will also be refunded.

No such deduction applies where you are entitled to a full refund under the Australian Consumer Law or where GoInspect cancels because we cannot provide the agreed service.

If GoInspect cannot provide the service

If we cannot provide the agreed inspection, we will notify you and offer an alternative appointment or a refund for the unprovided service. Rescheduling due to unsafe conditions or unsuitable drone weather does not attract a cancellation fee.

Refunds will normally be returned through the original payment method unless we agree otherwise. We will process refunds promptly; the time taken for funds to appear depends on your bank or payment provider.

9. Your report

We will advise the expected report delivery timeframe when arranging your inspection. If a delay arises, we will let you know.

The report is prepared for the agreed purpose and property. You may share it with your builder, developer, property adviser, solicitor or other relevant professional to address the matters reported. It should be read in full, including any limitations and recommendations.

We identify and report issues within our scope; we do not control the builder’s rectification work or guarantee that a builder will accept or rectify every reported item.

10. Information and privacy

We use booking information and uploaded plans or reports to quote, arrange and provide your inspection. Where needed for those purposes, we may contact your nominated builder, site supervisor or other contact. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled.

11. Questions or concerns

If you have a question about your booking or believe something requires review, contact us with the property address and relevant details. We will investigate and work with you to resolve the issue. Contacting us does not limit your right to seek advice, contact a regulator or pursue another available remedy.

12. Updates to these terms

Updated terms apply to bookings accepted after publication. They do not change an existing agreement without your agreement, except where a change is required by law.
